    History of Bighorn Fudge Company.

In the fall of 1998, while visiting friends on the coast of Maine, Lee and Andi Bosworth discovered a unique method for making gourmet quality fudge. After prayerful consideration, they decided to start a little fudge business in their home town of Borrego Springs, California. They leased space in the kitchen of a friend’s restaurant and started producing fudge to sell at their local Farmer’s Market. Some  people  thought the Bosworths were crazy attempting to establish a business selling fudge in such a remote little village where summer temperatures reached well into the 100 ‘s. However, their fudge booth soon attracted lines of people waiting to buy their delicious confection. When their friend decided to close his restaurant, Lee and Andi opened a little fudge shop in that location.

For the next several years they added numerous out of town Farmer’s Markets and Special Events to their schedule and soon outgrew their little shop. In June of 2000 the business was moved to larger facilities across town and they added even more out of town venues. The Bosworths also added ice cream, coffee and espresso drinks to their menu. They called their new shop The Fudge Factory. To take a tour of The Fudge Factory, Click HERE.

As their business grew, they realized they needed more help and invited their daughter Bonny to move from Phoenix and join them in the business. Bonny now oversees the entire operation and has grown the business to the flourishing establishment it is today. A few years ago they made their   100,000th pound of fudge and have stopped counting.  Bighorn fudge is also featured at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego and the Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo.
